Dual Control Sticks
A Modified Version of Mark Langford's

stick.jpg (317141 bytes)

Here it is in a home make fixture, I went with smaller tubing as Mark suggested. The main tube is 1" OD 65 wall, the diag tubes are 3/4 65 wall tube and the square tubes are 3/4 X 1.5". I will use a 5/8 control stick. I am not going to weld on the washers, I am going to use collars with the rubbing blocks, this way the system can be rebuilt if I ever ware it out which I hope to do. My control sticks will be 19" over all center to center.

Drilling the main hole on the drill press, using a wood cutting bit with lots of oil does a good job.

Here are the parts for the stick

seat_1.jpg (326364 bytes)

As you can see the seat was setup for one stick, so I will need to layout the hole for the other stick. The stick will be removable, not sure anyone will ever fly with me.

Here is the seat after cutting the new control stick hole.

This is the under seat frame work as you can see it will need to modified also. Will also need to make room for my flap handle.
